"Nick"
Before
This young man was very concerned about the state of his teeth and not sure what could be done to fix them. His main issues were the appearance of the front teeth and some heavily broken down back teeth. Nick had been consuming a large amount of soft drink which had lead to this situation. Nick explained that his teeth had become difficult to clean due to the holes. When we first saw Nick he had large areas of decay affecting all of his front teeth and many back teeth. Nick's gums were also quite red and inflamed.
After
Nick opted for composite restorations (tooth coloured fillings) to fix the decayed areas. A special filling material designed especially for cosmetic work was used. Nick also saw our hygienist for help with his gums. Nick was very happy with the result.
"Sarah"
"Tina"
Before
This woman in her 30s had hated her teeth since she was a teenager. She particularly disliked the way her front teeth stuck out. Tina had looked into braces but was reluctant as she had been told that she would need a lower front tooth removed.
After
Tina decided to undergo Invisalign treatment. With Invisalign we start with the end in mind by planning the final position of the teeth before we begining treatment. This allowed us to formulate a plan to keep Tina's lower front tooth. Invisalign is a series of clear plastic aligners and is an alternative to traditional braces. Most people didn't even realise that Tina was wearing Invisalign. Treatment took 15 months and needless to say Tina is very happy with the outcome and now smiles with confidence.
Before
Sarah hit her front tooth as a 10 year old and over a period of about 10 years the tooth had become heavily stained and had died. Sarah's top priority was to improve the appearance of this tooth.
After
We were able to save the front tooth by performing root canal treatment. We then completed multiple rounds of whitening targeting just this tooth to remove as much of the stain as possible. Sarah then elected to have a thin ceramic veneer placed to mask the remaining discolouration. This photo was taken immediately after the veneer was placed. The gum around the tooth will heal nicely within a fortnight.
